Broadband for Buildings
Overview
In a competitive marketplace, property companies increasingly look to differentiate their office space. One method is to work in partnership with Centric to pre-install a quality, high-speed Internet service. Tenants view this as being highly beneficial, as testified by the high take-up rates in buildings on the Centric network.
Tenant Benefits
For tenants, procuring an Internet connection is usually a lengthy and unpredictable process. For instance, leased line and LAN Extension Services (LES) have typical installation times of 60 working days.
However, it can often take longer with the following factors affecting a carriers’ ability to deliver:
- Lack of capacity the local exchange
- Lack of available space in the building’s riser
- Requirement for civil works to take place to access the building
- Local authority approval being required
- Wayleave agreements to be negotiated with the landlord
These issues are particularly relevant for new developments where telecoms connections have not previously been delivered.
Centric pre-installs a high speed connection which allows tenants to move into their office space on time, which benefits both the tenant and the landlord.
Centric’s proposition is very attractive for tenants. We charge a minimal installation fee and offer very competitive annual rental fees. Our Internet service is also supported by a 24x7, guaranteed 4 hour response service level agreement (SLA) as standard.
Centric Infrastructure
Centric typically installs a high speed Internet circuit into the Communications room or basement of the relevant building. This circuit is terminated into a small, secure and labeled cabinet. We then install fibre-optic cabling within the building’s main riser to allow connectivity for each floor.
